YouTube Shorts QC agent
Sample playbook, drafted from a content agent that has shipped real Shorts. Test record coming with the paid version.
What it does
Checks a finished vertical video before a human posts it. It catches the mistakes that cost views and redo time.
The checklist (run on every export)
- Captions match the audio word for word. Compare a transcript of the final audio to the caption track. Missing words were our #1 failure.
- Captions never cover the face. Sample frames every second and check that captions sit clear of the face area.
- No head crops. In 9:16, the top of the head stays in frame on reframed shots.
- Hook in the first 2 seconds. The first line states the payoff.
- Length and format. Vertical 1080x1920, under 60 seconds unless planned otherwise, audio levels consistent.
- Facts check. Any number or rule stated is checked against a source and listed in the notes.
Workflow that saved us hours
- The creator agent runs this checklist itself and fixes issues before handing off.
- Shorts go straight to the human for approval after self-QC. Only long-form gets a second agent's review. Double-reviewing Shorts was slow and caught little.
- Agree up front on what not to flag (we stopped flagging natural breaths).
Prompt starter
QC this Short against the checklist: transcript-vs-caption diff, caption/face overlap sampled every 1s, head crops, hook in first 2s, 1080x1920 under 60s, fact sources. Report PASS/FAIL per item with timestamps. Fix what you can, then re-run once. Do not publish.
